vocalize.

Yesterday I worked 15 hours straight.
I spoke with some Quebecois men at work.
Their accent is so thick- very hard to follow but beautiful too.

A brief story:

Sometimes in life I feel inclined to tell people things when I think it. Example: If I like your shoes or I think you have beautiful eyes I will most likely say so. Sometimes people appreciate my side comments and other times they go unnoticed [which is fine]. When I walk into work there are so many personalities and situations that are completely foreign to me. [it's a mission field]

There is a gentleman at work who is very outspoken, fun, enthusiastic and very good at what he does.
I know that lately he has had some serious problems at home with his family.

I saw him yesterday and instantly felt God leading to him to say that he is a wonderful person and that he is great at what he does.
He looked me in my eyes and thanked me.
Two minutes later he approached me and said "this is really weird but what made you tell me those things?"

There was a brief moment of silence and he said one more question.

"God?'

I replied, "yes."

He then became very serious, his eyes filled with tears and explained to me that he has just got done getting verbally let down by his wife [your not good enough, you are a bad person, your terrible at your job].

I know that I changed his attitude and possible even impacted his life. [hopefully]

When you think sometimes positive about something, vocalize it. You never know how badly they need to hear it.
God is so good.

  1. THANK YOU. And you are beautiful as well, CLEARLY. I too believe in sharing the goodness of kind thoughts. Why keep them in!?

"Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine as children do. It's not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own lights shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others. - Nelson Mandela

You are SO not playing small. And the world will be better for it :)

You can always come to my blog if you are interested; otherwise, i would be glad enough to read your stories...:)

  5. Most people don't take the time to say something kind to a stranger. It's such a small kindness, but can have such a big impact on a person. Good for you for sharing a little love!

  6. Yet another beautiful post.

So your work with québécois guys ? I've always wondered if their accent was as perceptible for french-speaking foreigners as it is for us French people from, well, France.

My best friend is dating a guy from Belarus who's learning French and I thought he'd have a lot of trouble understanding my québécois boyfriend's accent. Turns out, he did not. At all. (His accent isn't that strong, though).
