Tu me manques..

There are many benefits to knowing French, even in America.  Although a better choice may have been Spanish, I am thrilled that I have become fluent in French and familiar with French culture.  I cannot wait to have little baby bumblebees to care for and teach French to.  Introducing them to the structure of a foreign language (and particularly that of a romance language) will help them exponentially in their education, interaction with society, and understanding of culture in general.   One thing that I realized while living in France was that the French have expressions and phrases that cannot be translated into English; they cannot be translated because they would lose their meaning and eloquence.  "In French, you don’t really say “I miss you.” You say “tu me manques,” which is closer to “you are missing from me.” I love that. “You are missing from me.” You are a part of me, you are essential to my being. Being resourceful is probably one of the most rewarding feelings for me.  When I get my home and garden, I plan on installing a very detailed and functional recycling area that my kids can eventually use and understand.  To help "stock up" this future home of mine, I want to be able to fill it with new and used items that reflect me and my spouse.  Since my man totally loves coca-cola, this week I am hunting down one of these and getting to it!  p.s. baby-- if you're reading this... I think your love for coca-cola is cute even though I get pouty when you drink it ! =)

The Seven Year Itch

Today moo mar (mom) and I watched the ever-so-famous film with Marylin Monroe, "The Seven Year Itch."  Even though she is a terrible actress and singer (in my opinion) , her outfits are outstanding.  I know this little beauty (or something like it) is sitting in a Salvation Army waiting for me to swoop up. Classic cuts for the womanly figure! <><
