The Weekend - Macarons + Baby time

Image
We had a really beautiful weekend.  Friday night we celebrated Shea + Dave's (otherwise known as "Shave") wedding reception. Then Mike and I left baby Jane home with Mike's sister so we could go to a comedy show. This was the first time I left Jane home at night + I was surpisingly relaxed about it! Butch Bradley is such a great friend + comedian. I don't remember that last time I laughed like that! The L.A. comedy club is a great venue.  We love you, Butchy! I used Bouchon's recipe for making macarons which acutally uses an Italian method of incorporating the egg whites separately.  From what I've read and researched, the Italian method is just a more fullproof method that renders great results. And it did! Although, I was so tired after making these, I skippd the ganache filling and left them as is. I figured without the filling, we would consume less sugar, too.  And here ...

Our baby, just shy of 6 months, is truly the most fun little campion there is. We REALLY our weekends together as a family.  I love the last little picture of her and her papa.  She loves to suck on her pointer finger.  Every little thing she does makes my heart throb.  I love my family.

Milestones

Hey Jane, did you know in the last two weeks you started crawling and got your first two teeth? I just thought I would make a blog post so that when you're 35 and someone asks you when you had these amazing milestones, you will have a prompt answer and reliable source to refer to (ie, this blog post :) )  ps, they are your two bottom teeth. :) Here are some pictures of what we were up to in August 2014. 90th percentile for height and weight at 4 months. Mama's milk done you good, little one.  You think your little feet are fascinating, and so do we.  Mornings are really precious to our little family of 3. We get you from your crib and let you crawl around and entertain us as we eat and map out our day. We laugh and smile and then go back down for our morning nap (well, you do... I normally go do something I can't otherwise do when we are playing) This is a picture of Moo Mar at about age 2. I see a lot of you in her little face. We ea...

Football season is fast approaching!

We cannot wait to take Jane to her first UCLA game. Here we are, 2 years ago, young and in love, enjoying the cool nights of Pasadena. Ahhhh, I love this life!

My husband likes making .gifs and videos of our babe. I am so happy we can document all these sweet times. I think Jane will enjoy looking at these when she's older!

Looking Back, Newborn Photos

Image
Jane, 3 months. And my has she grown from this! Michael's dad, my father-in-law, captured these photos of Jane in our home when she was just 11 days old.  I should note that she adorably tinkled on that cream blanket as we were shooting her naked.  Looking back, at the first month of motherhood, I remember feeling so nervous all the time. I just wanted to do everything right for this little angel. Now that I'm a veteran mother (haha), I can mother in confidence knowing that all this girl needs is love from her mother and father.  Every day with Jane is one more day of joy. This is love in its purest form.
