Little tidbits

Life is surely moving fast.  Jane is 8 weeks old, and mama is wondering where the time is all going.  Our days start with mama, daddy, and baby time on the bed. We talk, do silly things to get smiles out of baby, and discuss how excited we are for the day to be over already so we can hang out together.  Mama goes downstairs and makes a smoothie and packs dad's lunch.  I usually put baby in her bassinet during this time and she occupies herself by taking the world in through her little eyes.  Off goes dad to work and baby is usually ready for her 2nd breakfast (quite the little hobbit you are, sweetie). Then baby lays on a blanket on the floor and mama plays with her feet, hands, and toes.  Mama usually takes 4-5 long videos and more photos than one can count. No worries, though, I have already upgraded my icloud space & dad has organized a couple of terabyte hard drives to keep everything stored and organized. We ...

Welcome to the world, sweet girl.

I promised myself I would blog throughout my whole pregnancy, but little did I know Mike and I would be purchasing our first home together and moving in just weeks before giving birth. So, needless to say, that's what we were doing for the whole 9 months; settling in.  Our new home is wonderful, spacious, homey, and more than we had ever imagined.  The most exciting part was that we knew we would be bringing our daughter to the place where she would take her first steps, jump her first rope, have her first fall, and grow stronger and wiser every day.  We knew it wasn't just a house, it was so much more than that.  My pregnancy was, for the most part, fairly easy. I did get referred to a high-risk pregnancy center to monitor the length of my cervix as this can be a sign of pre-term labor. Well, no worries there as I went past my due date by 2 weeks. The weeks leading up to meeting our daughter were not easy.  The anxiety kicks in and all you want to do is to f...

25 Weeks

We are 25 weeks and 4 days!  I am so thankful we have made it this far.  Baby is looking very healthy & mama is doing great too! So far here are some changes from my pregnancy: Wedding ring: woke up in the middle of the night last night and realized it was cutting off my circulation. Yikes! Sadly, I will be making a trip to Claire's this week for some faux wedding bands. Heartburn:  I purchased my first packet of Tums the other day. I have to say, those things work miracles! Hair & nails: Strong and amazing. Please don't change! Body aches: None, really.  I merit this to prenatal yoga.  Appetite: I was STARVING in the beginning of my pregnancy, but now my appetite has subsided.  Plus, I get full SO easily *baby taking up a lot of room ;)* Sleep patterns:  I use the restroom on average 3X per night. I know, but I am one thirsty lady and cannot get enough water! Mood: Always happy, always wanting cuddles fro...

The cat is out of the bag!

We are pregnant!  & We couldn't be happier.  What an amazing feeling knowing that your body is a temporary home for a growing little human being. I wanted to create this blog post so that our little girl can see just how much she is loved, from the moment she was conceived.  Our wedding was June 29, 2013. & what a beautiful day, indeed!  The months preceding our wedding, though, were filled with non-stop work days, stressful decisions, and overwhelming feelings of anxiousness.  Being that both of our families are very "traditional," Mike and I didn't live together before marriage.  This was a great reward for us once we did get married, but it was very difficult spending so much time apart during our courtship.  I know a lot of couple say this, but when we are together, it's pure happiness, laughter, and joy. And although we do have our disagreements, we can't STAND being mad at one another for more than 5 minutes.. thus resu...

As of late

Kicking into gear for my favorite season- FALL! I am very excited for all the trips we have planned and the people we get to see. The first few months of marriage have been complete bliss. We have been focused on getting everything organized in our house, making sure both sides of our families are up-to-date with all our happenings, and filling our tummies with many delicious things I have been cooking up.  We are also feeling very excited that we are buying our very first home!  I have been on Zillow.com searching for the perfect house like an absolute crazy woman. I mean, ALL I am asking for is a gourmet kitchen, a pool, updated floors, lots of yard space and a large formal dining room to fit our HUMONGOUS family.  Sadly, this has not been the easiest task as the market is changing and home prices are on the rise. But, we are faithful that we will find the perfect space in just a few short months and I can finally host a huge Thanksgiving spread for our entire famil...

Our wedding day!

And what a beautiful day, indeed. We feel so blessed to have had all our friends and family attend.  I remember waking up the next morning with butterflies still in my stomach. "Did that all just really happen?" It felt like a dream!   Mike and I are so excited about life.  Since the honeymoon, we have been non-stop busy! We like to wake up early in the morning, head to the gym, and play basketball together after our workouts. It gives us a chance to talk about things early on in the day, in a very open way.  Of course we talk about things like children, living in different cities, travel plans etc, but some days it's more quiet and we just enjoy our company together before we enter a hectic work day.  I have been putting to good use all the amazing kitchen-ware that was gifted to us at our wedding.  Needless to say, we are eating well and enjoying i...
